RUMOR: Unfriended 2 Was Shot In Secret

According to Horror Freak News, Unfriended 2, a sequel to 2015’s Unfriended has been shot in secret and recently screened. Audiences were asked to sign nondisclosure agreements, and as such, there is no information about the actual film.

However, it was reported that the film was “extremely well received,” which is always promising.

Not long after the movie was released, it was announced that the sequel had a writer, but no further update has been made since then.

Like films like Blair Witch or 10 Cloverfield Lane, it’s always nice when learning that a movie had virtually been shot in secret, and we can only wonder when the studio is planning on releasing Unfriended 2. Given that we’re currently in the main season for horror films, we can only imagine that it’ll be released within the next couple months, but we’ll have to wait and see.

A couple years ago, the original Unfriended hit theaters. It was fairly well received by critics, and made a solid $64 million off its $1 million budget. In the true spirit of horror films, one had to expect there would be a second film at some point.

Unfriended was a unique (albeit gimmicky) little horror film that took place entirely within a computer screen. Toggling between apps like Skype chats, Facebook, and other apps, it managed to tell an entire story.
