Fans of the Venom character were more than a little skeptical when it was announced that the character would be getting his own standalone film. The anti-hero had already been mistreated in the mid-2000s Sam Raimi film, Spider-Man 3, and with Peter Parker swinging about the MCU, the idea of having Venom in his own little offshoot seemed odd, to say the least.
However, with director Ruben Fleischer at the helm, and actor Tom Hardy leading, it seemed to have some potential. Plus, with the added potential of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker supposedly showing up, it seemed possible to do this right. It will all depend on what Sony is giving them permission to do in their film. A new plot breakdown brings up a couple interesting tidbits.

According to Manabyte, the plot breakdown reveals that the symbiote “manifests itself in Brock’s arms, tendrils, additional arms, and a shield during a car chase.” While this information is minor, it does line up with what little we saw in the trailer.
The summary goes on to reveal that Brock will fight a “bad” government symbiote. Not only that, there will be three symbiotes in the film. One will be Brock. One will be the villain one from space, and the third will kill the first person it bonds with.
Perhaps the biggest takeaway is the idea that, due to the low budget of the film, the actual amount of screen time with CG Venom will be limited.
Of course, this is nothing but a rumor, and the details themselves are vague enough that they’re impossible to check against what we know. We’ll just have to wait and see. But assuming it is true, what do you think? Is this good or bad news? Sound off down below!
