The Russo brothers are taking a well-earned break from the MCU after Avengers: Endgame. Endgame will be the culmination thus far of the entire MCU and it will be the fourth movie directed by the Russo’s for Marvel. Fans are understandably keen to find out if and when the Russo’s will be back at Marvel because so far the movies they have made have been brilliant. Well, I guess this is my own opinion, but I know the director siblings are very popular amongst other Marvel fans. So will this be the last Marvel movie they direct? Maybe not, but it may take something pretty special to bring them back.
Previously the Russo Bros had indicated they would love the chance to make a Secret Wars movie, something that is actually more plausible now that Disney has acquired all of Fox and thus their Marvel IP’s. In an interview with MTV News the pair was asked what could bring them back for another Marvel movie.
“I keep saying Secret Wars, cause that was one of the first books that I really fell in love with as a kid, was Secret Wars, This notion of like, you know, event storytelling, and I think that’s part of the reason that we gravitate so strongly towards these event films and these ensemble films. The notion that like you can contain so many different characters, and so many different points of view, and galvanize them around a story point is really compelling to us.”

The directors were also asked if they would ever consider helming a DC comic book movie.
“I mean, our brains are so fogged at this point that I don’t know we can consider anything, but, you know, you never say, never.”
For a start I’d love to see the Russo’s come back farther down the line and make a Secret Wars movie, I’d also be very interested to see what they could do with a DC property, especially Superman, or even better a second Justice League movie. I’d also be keen to see the Russo’s tackle the Star Wars universe and if Benioff and Weiss are looking for directors to helm one of their Star Wars movies, they’d be crazy to not consider the Russo’s.
