Seth Rogen Developing American Remake Of British Show PLEBS

Seth Rogen and writing/producing/directing partner Evan Goldberg have been on fire ever since the first film they wrote was released in 2007. A little film called Superbad. Since then, the pair have worked on a number of comedies from This Is The End to Sausage Party, also venturing into television with AMC’s Preacher and Hulu’s awful Future Man.

The Tracking Board reports that for their next project, Rogen and Golberg are looking across the pond, optioning the rights for the British comedy PLEBS.

The pair’s Point Grey Pictures will produce the American remake of the British show, though it is unknown how hands on Rogen and Golberg will be as far as writing or directing.

PLEBS is described as being similar to The Inbetweeners, a show that far more Americans will be familiar with. It’s good ‘ole coming-of age series set in ancient Rome with three Romans — Marcus, Stylax, and slave Grumbio — who work at a grain company, all the while trying to hook up with their neighbors.

Did they have weed in ancient Rome? If not, I’m sure Rogen can work it in. If so, sounds to me like Workaholics in ancient Rome. Rad.

Are you a fan of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s other TV entries? Does this sound like something you might be interested in? If you have seen PLEBS, is it worth remaking, or is it cursed like Spaced and The IT Crowd? Let us know in the comment section below!
