Shazam!: Newly-Revealed Logo Feels A Bit CW

DC’s next big superhero movie to hit after this year’s Aquaman is the unexpected Shazam! Pretty much every other DC film up until this point has featured characters that most mainstream audiences could identify either by name or appearance. For the first time, DC Films is delving into rather unexpected territory with this more happy-go-lucky superhero. This new attitude will likely be reflected in the new logo, right?

Up until this point, the logos for these movies have had either simplistic or textured and rustic-looking logos. For many, they helped reflect the gritty and grimy world that director Zack Snyder created. With Shazam!, it will finally be the first movie to hit with exactly zero Snyder influence. Shazam! has just created a new Twitter account for the film, and in it, they have released the first official logo for the movie. Check it out down below!

Call me judgmental, but I’m not a fan here. To me, this screams something closer to a CW show than it does a blockbuster film. That being said, I do appreciate the way the Z lines up with the lightning bolt. Perhaps it’s CG nature of the letters mixed in with the cloudy background that throws me off.

But in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn’t matter. First of all, this could just be a rough logo that will be changed down the line, and even if it is real, it IS just a logo, after all.

But what do you think? Is this logo any good? Sound off down below!
