Shazam: Zachary Levi Shares Photo Proving He’s More Than Fit Enough To Play The Hero

I must say that I do not envy actors or actresses that sign up for comic book films. The amount of criticism that they have to go through from die-hard fans and internet trolls is incredible. With the internet breaking stories that feature unauthorized looks at characters while they shoot the shows or movies it is easy to judge before we see the final product. Granted, they get paid a lot and it’s just part of the job. Not to mention DC does not have a great record with their films.

Most recently, there has been the criticism of the star of film Shazam!, Zachary Levi. The biggest complaint is that Levi has had to face was that his physique was not suited to play a character like Shazam, who is commonly on the same level, if not bigger, than Superman and Batman. For what it’s worth I like the fact that Levi has the passion to try and calm fans throughout the process posting a lot of his workout routines on his social media.

But then photos and videos leaked from the set of Shazam! and once again the criticism continued. Now the talk is about how much of Shazam’s physique is Levi and how much is added suit padding. Once again Levi strikes back with this post from his Instagram showing off his current form. Check it out below!

Looking at his post, Levi looks like he has been putting in a lot of time and effort to play the role of Shazam. He seems to fit the DC mold for body types to play heroes that DC has cast in the past like Ben Affleck or Henry Cavill. A big shoutout would need to go to Eric Blackmon who has been his workout partner throughout this time. I appreciate the fact that Levi is very vocal on defending himself and his character, I can only hope that we can see that type of passion on screen.

With so many leaks and stories about Shazam! could we please get an official image already? Maybe that will calm some of these critics although I doubt it. What do you think of Levi’s physic? Let us know in the comment section below!

Shazam! is scheduled to be released April 5, 2019.
