CinemaCon 2018: Simon Pegg Comments On Possible Future Writing Projects (Exclusive)

Although Simon Pegg is known for his diverse acting resume, he also has some great writing credits to go along with it.

His writing credits included films like The World’s End, Paul, Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. His last project he wrote was with Star Trek: Beyond back in 2016 that garnered over $150 million. But, that’s back in 2016!

LRM Online caught up with Simon Pegg on the red carpet promoting Mission: Impossible—Fallout at CinemaCon 2018 this week for Paramount Pictures’ presentation.

Although nothing is official yet, Pegg reassured us that he’s working on the next project as a screenwriter.

This is what he told us:

“I’m always at the writing table. It’s not something that you’ll ever stop doing. Soon. I hope. Me and Edgar [Wright] are hoping to write something soon. I’m writing something with Doug Jung, who I wrote Star Trek: Beyond with. I’m always thinking.”

It’s exciting to hear he’s currently working with Doug Jung again. It’s even more exciting he’ll be collaborating soon with Edgar Wright again too. They’ve made the best movies together that’s part of my Blu-ray collection with Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End.

Mission: Impossible–Fallout will be released in theaters on July 27.
