Slender Man Movie Gets A Poster, Trailer To Debut Tomorrow

IGN has just revealed the poster for the upcoming horror movie, The Slender Man.

Check it out below!

The film comes from the studio Screen Gems, and will tackle the mysterious urban myth of the Slender Man. For those who don’t know, Slender Man first was introduced to us wonderful interneters back in the late-2000s. The mythos started as a creepypasta image of a tall, lanky man in a suit, hanging out with groups of children (as you do).

The meme quickly gained steam, and quickly turned into a pop culture sensation. Since then, there has been a video game based on the myth, as well as countless very bad indie films. There was even a documentary that hit notooto long ago from HBO called Beware the Slenderman. This film chronicled the real-life stabbing case that was incited by the Slender Man legend.

Yet despite all this content popping up around the character, this is our first honest-to-goodness horror film (or at least the first one worth seeing). While the poster is definitely intriguing, we’re interested to see just how they’ll actually tackle it in narrative form. As someone who often dives deep into creepypastas and online horror phenomena, this is up my alley, and I can’t wait to see what comes of it.
