Sony’s Spider-Man Game Trailer Drops With New Villain | SDCC 2018

Gamers globally have been anticipating the release of more footage of Sony’s new Spider-Man release on September 7th. The amount of information to this point has been scarce but thanks to a new trailer it is getting easier to connect the dots. The game synopsis from Sony’s YouTube channel details the game much more clearly which is driving up additional hype for the September release.

The high stakes in Marvel’s New York escalate, as Mayor Norman Osborn is willing to take no risks during his re-election bid. He hires Silver Sable and her security force, Silver Sable International, to restore order to the city – which includes stopping someone he believes is contributing to the mayhem: Spider-Man.

The biggest addition to this game came with the addition of another villain to fight in the game. Silver Sable made her appearance working under Osborn likely being the penultimate boss of the game setting the stage for the fight against Osborn. The game further sets up Mister Negative to be a large player in the plot gathering the Sinister Six to take Spider-Man out. While most of the Wall-Crawler there appears to be enough of his enemies to be saved for a future sequel if this game does well enough for Sony. Adding Miles Morales is a nice touch to the game as it brings in the multiverse aspect which recent Marvel comics have used heavily.

Unfortunately, for Xbox users, this game will only release on Sony’s PS4 which makes sense due to their ownership of the character. An edition of the PS4 featuring a Spider-Man marker will also release, September 7th, the games release date.
