Space Jam 2 Producer Maverick Carter Talks The Possibility Of Michael Jordan Appearing In The Film

With Space Jam 2 now having Black Panther‘s Ryan Coogler as a producer, and LeBron James set to star, fans are now wondering if Michael Jordan will be involved on some level. While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, LeBron James’ business parter, and Space Jam 2 producer Maverick Carter says he is open to the idea, though he doesn’t seem to optimistic on Jordan agreeing to come aboard.

“Hopefully there will be a role for Michael if he wants it. But Michael Jordan is Michael F*ckin’ Jordan. It doesn’t matter (if James) calls him, he’s gonna do whatever the hell he wants, which he has earned that right to do. LeBron and Michael are not sitting around talking about Space Jam.”

It would definitely be nice to see Jordan in a cameo at the very least, though it would awesome for him to have a major role in the film. The original Space Jam was released in 1996 and starred Jordan alongside several other NBA stars of the time including Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, and Patrick Ewing among others. Danny DeVito. and Bill Murray also appeared in the film.
