Spider-Verse: Could Spooder-Man And Japanese Spider-Man Show Up In The Sequel?

If last year’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse didn’t make it clear enough, there have been a ridiculous number of incarnations of everyone’s favorite webslinger. Of course, we have the fan favorite original, Peter Parker. We also have the many other iterations, like Miles Morales, the Ghost Spider, Spider-Man Noir, and Peni Parker. However, if there’s one version of the character that got shafted, it’s the Japanese Spider-Man.

I’ll admit total ignorance on this one. Until the Honest Trailer for the Japanese Spider-Man hit, I didn’t realize this thing existed. But as the TV live-action Spider-Man TV show was hitting stateside, over in the Land of the Rising Sun, they had a much cooler interpretation of the character who shot guns and summoned MegaZords, even before MegaZords were a thing.

But could we see this character hit in a sequel? One fan asked Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producer and co-writer that very question. Here’s what he said:

“I will IF we cross 200 domestic. Deal everybody?”

It certainly has its work cut out for it. Despite its fantastic reception from critics, the film isn’t really making that much at the box-office, and has only made $103.6 million domestically (though, with its $90 million budget, it’s not losing any money). As such, the chances of it making that $200 million seem unlikely.

But that’s not all. When one fan asked if the fan version of the character, Spooder-Man, would be it in the sequel, Miller responded by saying, “Obviously yes.” Hm…something’s telling me we shouldn’t really be taking these claims seriously…

What other weird versions of Spider-Man would you like to see in the Spider-Verse sequels? Sound off down below! Personally, I’d like to see Piderman hit the big screen.
