It seems as if Stan Lee just can’t catch a break from his personal drama these days.
He has just been granted a temporary restraining order against his legal guardian and business partner, Keya Morgan, who is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police department due to allegations of elder abuse. It was filed on his behalf by attorney Tom Lallas, who alleges that Morgan took advantage of Lee by inserting himself into his life after the death of his wife, and kept him isolated from those he knew and trusted.
The news of the restraining order comes after news broke regarding Morgan’s arrest on Monday for allegedly making a false police report against two police detectives and a social worker who arrived at his home to check on his welfare. He is currently released on a $20,000 bail.
According to the declaration filed as part of his petition for the restraining order, Lallas describes Lee as being in frail health and relying on round the clock nursing care, where he has been suffering from several ailments and exhibiting signs of short-term memory impairment, impaired judgment, and an inability to resist undue influence.
If these allegations are true, it will mark yet another troubling event for Lee, whom this past year, saw the death of his wife as well as several incidents involving financial fraud.
Sadly, it seems as if the battle over the control of his life and estate is far from over.
