Today marks the first official day of production on Star Wars: Episode 9. The movie as you probably know is being directed once more by The Force Awakens JJ Abrams. We also know the official cast list and that includes the likes of Mark Hamill and even Carrie Fisher who will be recreated using unused footage from The Force Awakens after her tragic and untimely passing.

With the majority of the cast of The Last Jedi returning, we also know that Billy Dee Williams will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian in the concluding chapter of the sequel Star Wars trilogy. John Boyega, who plays Finn, today shared an image of himself at the Star Wars gym, getting into shape for the movie. The image was shared as an Instagram story, and one Twitter user captured the image, which you can see below:

There is nothing terribly interesting to note in this image other than the fact that Boyega seems to have longer hair in this movie, even then that’s not guaranteed as Boyega could easily be due a haircut before he first steps in front of the cameras. Hopefully, as the production ramps up we may start to get some more interesting BTS images, though knowing how secretive Abrams is, I wouldn’t expect too much.

After the backlash of The Last Jedi all eyes are looking at JJ Abrams to see what he can do with the final movie, and wondering whether it will attract the same kind of audiences as The Force Awakens did. Time will tell on that, and I personally won’t make any judgments until I have seen a full trailer for the movie, which I wouldn’t expect to be seeing until sometime next year, after all, it’s only day one.
