Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge – Millennium Falcon Ride To Send Visitors On A Mission To Coreilla

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is set to open next year at both U.S. Disney parks. As we already know, one of the featured attractions will allow visitors to pilot, or be part of the crew of the Millennium Falcon. Some new information on the ride has released. As it turns out, park goers will be sent on a mission to Coreilla, which is the home planet of the ship’s most famous Captain, Han Solo. This information comes from a report by Making Star Wars, so just keep in mind none of this is official.

Also revealed is who will send you on the mission. Hondo Ohnaka, a somewhat charming pirate that fans of The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels will surely be happy to see.

“Hondo is the owner of Hondo Ohnaka’s Transport Solutions sending your crew on mission to Corellia. Before you enter the ride, you will see the Falcon outside. As you go in and have some sort of encounter with Hondo you board the Falcon from underground on Batuu. We assume the idea is that the ship lowered underground to let you board that way.”

Also worth noting is that the ride is said to take place between The Last Jedi and Episode IX, but it won’t always stay that way. The ride will also feature three randomized missions which you can read details about below.

  • “Mission Scenario One: Hondo gets you involved in a race on Corellia that he’s sure you can’t lose with the Millennium Falcon.
  • Mission Scenario Two: Hondo sends you to the First Order Shipyard on Corellia, possibly on a mission for the Resistance.
  • Mission Scenario Three: Your crew will have to steal some piece of cargo, but the cargo is guarded by a giant monster similar to The Maw from Solo: A Star Wars Story and you’ll have evade the creature like the mythic heroes stealing the treasure from the sleeping dragon. Spoiler: The dragon wakes up.”

To be able to see an actual physical Millennium Falcon and then walk into it and take a ride, wow, the dream of many a Star Wars fan. Seems like it will be a very immersive environment. And how about throwin Hondo in the mix? I always loved episodes with Hondo in them, he can be kind of dirty, and will double cross you, but it doesn’t take long for the character to grow on you. A nice addition to the Millennium Falcon ride for sure, now I am surely going to have to get back out to California.
