Star Wars: Mark Hamill Not A Fan Of Disney’s Release Schedule

Uh-oh, watch out everyone. Mark Hamill is about to speak again, and we know he doesn’t really mince words when it comes to his criticisms against Star Wars in recent years. Though, this isn’t exactly a new quote (I mean, it’s new, but it’s from the same interview we pulled from yesterday), so no need to think that he went off speaking to someone else again.

Without a doubt, this current era Star Wars movies has been a bit divisive, to say the least. There are plenty of people like me who really enjoy these movies, and there is a very vocal subset of people who don’t. We’re Mark Hamill a fan completely separated from this property, I get the impression he would probably be apart of the latter group. He has been very vocal about his this taste for how Luke Skywalker was handled in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but it turns out there’s another way in which he disagrees with Disney, as he revealed to Den of Geek.

“In our day, it was three years apart. Now they’re two years apart, with an independent movie (Rogue One, Solo) in between. I say to the executives at Disney, ‘Really? Han Solo five months after our movie? Give it a rest!’ They say, well, we have to keep the schedule clear for Mary Poppins.’ But I can be mouthy, because you know, what are they gonna do, fire me?”

I mean, the dude really does have a point. I think we all can agree that releasing Solo: A Star Wars Story so close after The Last Jedi resulted in a pretty low box office haul. It’s a step that Disney seems to be remedying right now by not announcing another handful of Star Wars movies at this point.

So, better late than never, I guess?
