Star Wars: Police Investigating Equipment And Data Theft From Set Of The Mandalorian

Star Wars, possibly above all other franchises, prides itself on secrecy during production. The producers and directors always want to try and maintain as much mystery about a project as they can until it is released to the masses. However, fans are fans and when it comes to Star Wars fans, occasionally they will go to severe lengths to spy on productions and in this case worse.

This week it was reported that there had been a theft reported to Police on the set of The Mandalorian, the new Star Wars TV show that will debut on Disney Play when completed. As we know The Mandalorian is overseen by showrunner John Favreau and also features the talents of the likes of Dave Filoni, Taiki Waititi and Bryce Dallas Howard.

The initial report by The Blast says that the theft was of camera equipment and a memory card. The Memory card seems to be the biggest deal as it seems possible that this data contains spoiler information for the TV show that the producers do not want being made public at this time.

The theft apparently occurred at the Manhattan Beach set overnight when the set was dark and an inside job has not yet been ruled out by Police.

The theft occurred just days after Star Wars creator George Lucas had visited the crew on the set, currently I have heard no hints that Lucas was the one who stole the equipment, but who knows (that’s a joke people, so don’t call Lucas’ lawyers please)?

Whether there is sensitive information on that memory card and whether the culprits intend to make this data public is unknown at this time. But it is certainly a worry for the producers and the studio in general.

Where were you two days ago? We want alibis folks, or you are all under suspicion. Personally my money is on our own Seth and I have passed his mugshot onto Manhattan Beach Police. Though they did respond asking me why I had sent them a picture of Jesus? Share your alibis below in the usual place and remember that you are all guilty until proved innocent.
