I’ll admit, I’m not really right demographic for this show. This is a series meant for much younger fans of the show, and here I am, some thirty-something-year-old dude ready to judge it based off an extended teaser. I only say this because I’ve also never really liked the other animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. I appreciate their place in the Star Wars canon, but as pieces of entertainment, they’ve never really clicked with me.

With this new series, I hoped to get in on the ground floor. I wanted to think that if I just started watching it from day one that I could grow to love it. However, after seeing this new trailer, I can’t really tell you I’m confident that’ll happen. The jokes aren’t very funny to me, the characters seem annoying, and I really couldn’t care less about the story’s overall place in the canon. I’m probably just a bad Star Wars fan. After all, I do love The Last Jedi, so take this opinion with a grain of salt if that claim infuriates you.

Below is the official synopsis to Star Wars Resistance:

“Resistance fighter Poe Dameron tasks young pilot Kazuda ‘Kaz’ Xiono with spying on the First Order. At the time, little was known about the secretive organization and its strength. In order to fulfill his mission, Kaz travels to the space station Colossus, which is being used by many ships as a port to refuel and do repairs. However, there are also dangerous races taking place there. After Kaz bragged with his piloting skills at his arrival there, he is soon drawn into one of the races…”
