Star Wars: The Mandalorian Star Pedro Pascal Shares Dave Filoni Sketch

While the entire fandom of Star Wars seems to be at odds with one another about whether or not Disney is destroying the film universe of the beloved franchise, there is no denying that the idea of them going to Disney+ to create an original series is an exciting prospect. But that ain’t it. Not only is that prospect interesting, but the actual direction of their series is downright badass. In case you haven’t heard, the show idea they’re going with is called The Mandalorian, which follows a lone gunslinger in the farthest reaches of the galaxy, far away from the influence of the Empire.

Star Wars fans will be happy to hear that Star Wars animation director Dave Filoni also has his hand this project as an executive producer and director of an episode. However, it looks like he may have even had a hand in some of the overall development, as evidenced by a new Instagram post from series star Pedro Pascal.

The post features a couple of cool sketches of the titular Mandalorian. One is a medium shot, and the second is a more distant shot that shows off his full ensemble, complete with his cape blowing in the wind. I have to say, I’m enchanted by that second shot. It’s unclear whether or not these sketches had any influence in the character’s final design or if it was just Filoni having fun, but it’s still damn cool and almost makes me want to see a comic following this currently-unnamed gunslinger.

What do you think of these two images? Do they get you any more excited for the Jon Favreau-created series? Let us know your thoughts down below!
