Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Oscar Isaac Says The Resistance Has Had Time To Train

Much time has passed since Rian Johnson took his directorial lightsaber and more or less sliced the Star Wars fanbase in half with his divisive film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. As for the Skywalker Saga, it’s been over 40 years since it began its journey that will end in just over a month’s time with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Some time has passed within the film itself, allowing the characters to grow, change, and learn off-screen. So says Oscar Isaac anyway, who has portrayed hotshot pilot Poe Dameron throughout the sequel trilogy. Isaac recently talked about the improvements the Resistance has made offscreen as well as his character teaming up with Rey and Finn for the first time, you can check it out below.

“We’re not just a ragtag group of people who have been thrown together. We’ve actually had time to train. There are some really great sequences with the three of us in infiltrating spaces.”

Hopefully, Abrams was able to pull off the near-impossible task of tieing together the nine-film saga with this upcoming final installment, while simultaneously applying a bandage to the wounded fanbase. I wish you the best of Luck J.J. and I sincerely do hope you succeed.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
