All we have had to go on for some time with Star Wars: Episode 9 was a few pieces or rumored leaked information. That was until last Friday, when we finally got the first teaser trailer and the title of The Rise of Skywalker. From this point on we could be covering potential SPOILERS For Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker, so be warned before continuing!

As you’d imagine the rumor and leak game has bene a little quiet in the last week now we have some 100% real information to go on. One thing we can say though is that the leaked information we shared from MSW was very good, because from what we have seen officially (and unofficially) of both The Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian, many details match up.

So today we are sharing some new info from MSW, I will say that it is not explained very well in the article itself, but the author is doing his best to describe very vague details he has been given. I’ll try to summarise the article as best as I can.
In the press conference for The Rise of Skywalker, director JJ Abrams was coy around whether we would see any new Force powers, but he appeared to be saying yes. MSW says that they have had something a bit weird described to them which may account for at least one new ability. Apparently when Kylo Ren and Rey clash, the connection they had through Snoke kicks in again and its as if they are cycling through various backgrounds around them from all the previous movies. The outlet is calling this a ‘Force Flash Fight’ and may be a way they are trying to connect these two into the backstory of the previous movies.
They also describe the moment after that TIE vs backflipping Rey scene from the trailer. Apparently they’ve been told Rey does disable the ship and Kylo climbs from the jumping wreckage igniting his Lightsaber for the impending duel between the two.
Finally they make some guess work around a previous description where they were told about Kylo and Rey working together against a common threat. This threat was wearing a black cloak and hood and the outlet originally thought this would be Snoke somehow returned. This was of course before they heard about the return of the Emperor and they now think perhaps this is Palpatine, or…… a younger version of Palpatine resurrected in the form of Matt Smith? Smith is still not officially part of the movie and yet strongly rumored to be so for some time and was even rumored to be playing a young Palpatine before we even thought that was possible.
Very interesting indeed and this certainly gives us plenty to speculate on over the next period of (probably) silence from Lucasfilm.
