Stay Out of the Water: Beast of War Circles Theaters

Beast of War

Du-dun-du-dun-dun-dun-dun

I like sharks, folks. Love ‘em. Runs in my bloodstream like sea water with a side of chum. Don’t believe me? I’ve got a taxidermied shark hanging around to prove it. It’s dead eyes watching me binge bad sequels at 3 a.m.

So when the trailer for Beast of War swam into my inbox, I had to bite. And holy dorsal fin, this one looks like it’s bringing the teeth. Forget polite splashes, this shark’s a man-eater with WWII grit all over it. Think The Ghost and the Darkness, except swap out lions for a monster shark and drop the whole thing in the Australian outback. Bonkers, right?

Look, I’ll always chow down on The Meg movies for pure brain-freeze spectacle, but for true edge-of-your-seat terror, The Reef still haunts me. Now Beast of War might just be the next one to keep you off the beach and clutching your popcorn like a life preserver. Inspired by real events, whatever that means in shark-sploitation land, this beast is circling theaters October 10, 2025. Bring a towel.

Synopsis

When their boat is sunk while crossing the Timor Sea during World War II, a young troop of Australian soldiers must find a way to survive the harsh seas on a quickly shrinking life raft. Hundreds of miles from anywhere, they must confront interpersonal conflicts, enemy attacks, and the advances of one very large, very hungry great white shark. From Kiah Roache-Turner, director of Wyrmwood and Sting, comes this uniquely terrifying tale.
