Stranger Things – New Featurette Reveals Idea Behind The Show’s Casting

Netflix has released a featurette detailing the casting of the actors that appear on the show. The video includes commentary from younger members of the cast talking about what it is like to work with each other as well as the chemistry they share. The video also features show creators Matt and Ross Duffer along with casting director Carmen Cuba speaking about casting 80s icons such as Sean Astin and Paul Reiser, as well as the process as a whole. I thoroughly enjoyed the show’s first season, was entertained by the second, but considering how much longer it is taking to make the third season, I have extremely high hopes for it. I hope the show-runners move on from the demagorgons and gives us something new.

One advantage for the Duffer brothers is that they have a vast pool of 80s nostalgia to pull ideas from. One thing we do know about Straner Things 3 is that 80s horror director, John Carpenter, as well as other horror director from the era will be an influence for the third season, you can read about that here. The third season of Stranger Things will air sometime next year.
