Stranger Things Renewed For Season 4, Creators Ink Nine-Figure Netflix Deal

Stranger Things has done great things for Netflix. While the streamer currently finds itself in a position where it’ll need to start creating recognizable I.P. in order to compete with the likes of Disney+, one property that is doing amazing work for them is Stranger Things. It may have been a fluke for Netflix, but it’s easily become one of their big flagship shows at this point.

So, if you were worried about us not getting a Season 4, worry no more, because Netflix has renewed the series for another season and have also locked down the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers in a multi-year overall deal that is reportedly worth a whopping nine figures.

“The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love,” said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos. “We can’t wait to see what the Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of the Upside Down.”

“We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with Netflix. Back in early 2015, Ted Sarandos, Cindy Holland, Brian Wright and Matt Thunell took a huge chance on us and our show — and forever changed our lives,” the Duffers said in a joint statement Monday. “From that first pitch meeting to the release of Stranger Things 3, the entire Netflix team has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance and creative freedom we always dreamed about. We can’t wait to tell many more stories together — beginning, of course, with a return trip to the Upside Down!”

But how many seasons will be left in the Upside Down? the creators have always expressed a desire to have the show last four to six seasons, which means that — at most — we have three seasons left, and perhaps less if they opt to venture outside sooner rather than later. Personally, I’d love to see it end next season, but that could change depending on their overall series plans.

Either way, we’ll be keeping our eyes on the Duffer Brothers as they continue on with Stranger Things as well as venture into new territory.
