Surprise, Surprise, New Study Shows Iron Man Is The Talkiest Avenger In The Movies

I don’t think it’s a hot take to say that Tony Stark is a bit of a motormouth. The dude has been talking 100 miles per hour ever since his first feature hit the big screen back in 2008, and he hasn’t shut up since (well, except for that one scene in Captain America: Civil War). He’s also been one of the main draws to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole, with Robert Downey Jr. lovingly realizing the character on the big screen.

So, you can imagine my non-surprise when I learned that Tony had, far and away, the most lines of any Avenger in any of the Avengers — or Avengers-centric — films. However, one Redditor took it upon himself to do the heavy lifting for us. Check out what he’s found.

There’s a lot of interesting stuff to mull over, thanks to this data. For starters, Tony even has more lines than Cap in Captain America: Civil War — his own damn movie! However, in the first two Avengers, Cap still consistently trails Tony. The only weird film here is Avengers: Infinity War, mostly because the focus was split differently among the different Avengers. It’s worth reiterating that these graphs do not take into account any other Avengers outside of the original six introduced in the first film.
