Teaser Hits For Neil Blomkamp’s Live-Action Short Movie For Anthem Game

Yesterday we found out that director Neil Blomkamp was working on something for EA’s upcoming game Anthem which releases on February 22nd. We now know this is a short film called Conviction and the above is a teaser only for the short film which will release on February 14th (that’s tomorrow folks).

Anthem as we have already reported is a new third person GAAS game from EA (Games As A Service), which will allow gamers to team up with friends to kill enemies, explore secrets and most of all collect cool new loot. The game follows a similar model as predecessors such as Destiny and The Division. Here is the official sales pitch of Anthem.

In Anthem, players can play with up to three friends to explore and battle in a dangerous, mysterious world with great characters and a unique BioWare story. As freelancers, players don Javelin exosuits, making them powerful heroes with strong weapons and incredible special abilities to help them survive in an ever-changing, unfinished world. Players will be able to customize and personalize their Javelins with unique paint jobs and gear so they’ll have the right tools to confront almost any situation, and look good doing it. As players work together to find vast ruins, defeat deadly enemies and claim otherworldly artifacts, they’ll be unlocking their own individual story fighting against The Dominion, a ferocious militaristic society.

It’s pretty common practice for games these days to pay for a live-action trailer, but less common for developers to commission a short movie, especially for a game which hasn’t shipped yet and has not been tested against the market.

I personally think the games looks worth a try and I have already purchased it and begin to start playing with friends on the 22nd. I am interested to see how Conviction shapes up as a movie and we will share the short film with our readers as soon as humanly possible.

Are you excited to see more of Conviction, are you excited to play Anthem in less than 2 weeks time? Shoot your thoughts into our comment section below as always.
