Teaser Trailer For George R.R. Martin’s Nightflyers

While fans are still roughly a year away from the final season of Game of Thrones, the man who created the most unforgiving world in the fantasy genre, George R.R. Martin has another of his creations being adapted for television. Martin’s Nightflyers novella, which was previously adapted in the late 80s, is set to air of the SYFY network.

An official synpsis for the show follows below.

“Nightflyers follows eight maverick scientists and a powerful telepath who embark on an expedition to the edge of our solar system aboard The Nightflyer—a ship with a small tightknit crew and a reclusive captain—in the hope of making contact with alien life.”

Wow, how creepy is that little girl in the trailer?

While I don’t have a lot of confidence in the content produced by the SYFY network, I do have the utmost confidence in stories form the mind of George R.R. Martin. The trailer has sparked my curiosity and I will give it a shot when the time comes.

While known mostly for his fantasy epic A Song of Ice and Fire, which Game of Thrones is based of off, Martin is also an accomplished science-fiction writer. Having written for numerous television shows for decades before A Song of Ice and Fire was published.
