Terminator Adds Mackenzie Davis As ‘The Face Of The Rebooted Franchise’

If we’re to take actor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s word as gospel, Terminator 6 is only a handful of months away from its principal photography. With that in mind, it makes sense they’d be rounding out the cast for this bad boy. Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton are both set to return to the series as the characters that made them household names, but now it looks like they’ve added a key role.

According to Variety, actress Mackenzie Davis is in negotiations to star in the flick. But she won’t just be a supporting cast member. Insiders are saying that she would be “the face of the rebooted franchise.” Pretty much, she’ll be the Sarah Connor of this franchise (in that the movies will revolve around her character, not that she’ll be playing Sarah Connor).

Sadly, while it sounds like Davis’ role will be pivotal, we don’t know how she’ll factor into everything, as plot details are understandably being kept under wraps.

Set to direct this film under the guidance of franchise starter James Cameron is Deadpool‘s Tim Miller. Davis has reportedly been Miller’s top choice for the role, but before it could be announced, Cameron needed to sign off on it. Davis was previously rumored to be in the running to play Domino for Deadpool 2, but is perhaps best known for playing Cameron Howe in AMC’s original series, Halt and Catch Fire.
