The Addams Family animated film, which is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2019, is making some real progress. Last December, we reported on the announcement that Oscar Isaac would be voicing Gomez, and that already set fairly high expectations of what was to come next. Just how big of a supporting cast could we expect from this movie?

Now, in addition to revealing the first image for the film, Deadline has revealed the main actors who will be voicing the remaining members of the family, as well as the film’s villain, Margaux Needler. Here is who will be playing the characters:

Morticia: Charlize Theron
Grandmama: Bette Midler
Wednesday: Chloe Grace Moretz
Puglsey: Finn Wolfhard
Uncle Fester: Nick Kroll
Margaux Neeler: Allison Janney

Directing this new animated take on The Addams Family are Sausage Party director Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan. The script comes from relatively new talent Matt Lieberman, who also wrote the screenplay for an upcoming Short Circuit remake as well as a new Scooby movie. Sadly, we don’t have any real track record for him, and can only look at his steady stream of work as a check in his favor.

Regarding the making of the film, Vernon had the following to say:

“Greg and I have always been a fan of the Addams Family in past versions, so when we set out to make this movie, we were excited to do something new. With that in mind, I drew from the brilliantly original Charles Addams New Yorker cartoons for the look of the film and decided to tell the story of how Gomez and Morticia meet, find their house and start their family. This unique approach is what drew me in to direct the film. The reimagining also extends to the stellar cast we’ve put together who will each bring their own spin to our film that will appeal to longtime fans of the Addams and introduce them to a new generation.”

President of MGM Motion Pictures Group Jonathan Glickman followed up that statement with:

“Conrad and Greg are masters of animation with the keen ability to create something both kids and their parents will enjoy for different reasons. Adding to that a world class caliber of talent with Oscar, Charlize, Chloë, Finn, Nick, Bette and Allison – we can’t wait to bring their fresh and modern take on The Addams Family to the worldwide audience.”
