The CW’s Batwoman Releases Images Of Hush And Magpie In Series

Seven years after the launch of the Arrowverse on The CW from Warner Bros. Television, we are finally getting a series set in Gotham City. But since Batman is still off limits to The CW, we will follow the story of Kate Kane, who is Bruce Wayne’s cousin and the vigilante Batwoman and is played by Ruby Rose. She made her debut in last year’s Arrowverse crossover Elseworlds. Now we are only a few days away from the premiere of Batwoman‘s first episode on Sunday, October 6th.

We have already know that the main villain for the series will be Alice, who is played by former Birds of Prey star Rachel Skarsten. But that is not the only villain that that Batwoman will have to confront this season. TVLine has confirmed two other well known villains that have been cast. Gabriel Mann has been cast as Thomas “Tommy” Elliot, who as many know is a childhood friend of Kate’s missing cousin Bruce Wayne and grew up to become a real estate mogul. Although he shows up with charm and a friendly smile, Elliot has a deadly chip on his shoulder that will put Kate’s Batwoman identity at risk.

Along with Skarsten, Rachel Matthews has been cast as the villain Magpie. She is a deft thief that is extremely intelligent and is drawn to shiny things which makes her constantly looking to pickpocket the rich. But it would seem that she has bigger plans those people that take their riches for granted. Skarsten’s Elliot will guest-star in episode three and Matthews’ Magpie will guest-star in episode four. This is not the first time that these characters have been featured on a television series as they both appeared on FOX’s Gotham. TVLine has exclusive photos of the characters in the series in the link below!

Here is the official synopsis for Batwoman‘s pilot episode.
Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante. Gotham is a city in despair, the Gotham City Police Department have been overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob’s first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm by kidnapping his best Crow officer – and Kate’s ex-girlfriend – Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy). Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane (Elizabeth Anweis), who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate –– the daughter he still has –– at a distance. But Kate is a woman who’s done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she’ll have to become the one thing her father loathes –– a vigilante. With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary (Nicole Kang), and the crafty Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson), the son of Wayne Enterprises’ tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice (Rachel Skarsten), who’s always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman.
