The End Of The F***ing World Season 2 Begins Production

It’s been a solid year-plus since Netflix dropped the entirety of The End of the F***ing World onto their platform. The show was an eight-episode, thirty-minute series chronicling the misadventures of a high school student who wanted to commit a murder and the girl he planned on murdering. Quite predictably, he ends up falling for the very girl he wants to kill, and along the way learns he’s not quite the psychopath he thought was.

By the time the credits rolled, I was torn. They had managed to tell such an amazing, standalone story (though it was based on a series of comics), and while the ending left things a bit…ambiguous, I also saw myself wanting to see what happened with these characters in another season. Now, Netflix has officially announced that they have begun production on the show’s second season.

While it’s nice to see we will be getting more from this show, I can’t help but wonder if it will, in fact, be a continuation of what we saw. Since the show was relatively indie in its approach, I can see them following only a couple of characters from the previous season, or even a whole new batch of them. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see what they come up with.
