It looks like The Flash will be bringing in a bit of Law and Order to their midseason premiere episode. The CW has just shared a brand-new trailer for the upcoming episode, and in it, it looks like Barry’s up a creek without a paddle.

In the midseason finale of the season, Clifford DeVoe — Barry’s foe for the season — switched bodies, and left his old one in Barry’s apartment. Obviously, this left Barry in quite the little predicament, and it’s here we pick things up in the upcoming season.

“BARRY FIGHTS FOR HIS LIFE — As Barry’s (Grant Gustin) trial for the murder of Clifford DeVoe begins, Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) must decide how far they are willing to go to keep Barry out of prison.”

The trailer definitely makes things intriguing, as Barry is unable to tell the truth without fully revealing his identity. It’s with that in mind that Cecille tells Barry to tell the truth, and reveal his identity as The Flash.

Talk about a cool way to sell the midseason premiere. While we know there’s no way Barry will end up guilty, and that he’ll reveal his identity, it’s the intriguing start to what will likely be another half-season of cat and mouse between DeVoe and Barry.
