The Mandalorian: Check Out The Q&A From The Brand New Live-Action Star Wars Show

Yes, The Mandalorian is the buzz in Star Wars right now after it opened on Disney+ to some fantastic responses from fans and critics alike. I believe at this point, I am the only member of the LRM team who has not seen the show, because, well I live in the UK and it simply isn’t available here yet. Somehow, I still managed to argue about some aspects of the show with Jonesy and Jammer on today’s LRMornings Podcast.

For those that have seen Episode 1 of The Mandalorian, check out the video above, it was streamed live yesterday and it is a Q&A with cast and crew from the show. The video is around 38 minutes long, so I thought I’d attempt to highlight some of the main points covered briefly, for those with no time.

Deborah Chow talked about how the director of each episode actually worked together and collaborated, something she says is rare on TV shows. They also said Chow and Filoni blocked scenes together for their episodes. Ryan Coogler and Donald Glover kept praising Ludwig Göransson whenever they spoke to Jon Favreau, and that’s how he was hired to score the show. Dave Filoni said that everyone was very helpful and respectful on set. Bryce Dallas Howard then said that George told her Dave Filoni was like a son to him and Filoni seemed a little moved by that. Jon Favreau said that it was Howard who was the person that brought Cara Dune to life, the character played by Gina Carano, though I understand she was not on screen in the first episode. Carl Weathers mentioned that he and Werner Herzog shared scenes together also, one would assume he again means later on in the series.

If any of that sounds interesting enough to watch the full video of, then as said you can catch it above. There may admittedly be a few things mentioned that went over my head, but really I’m pumped for this show and can’t wait to catch up as soon as possible. Jammer described it to me like a spaghetti western, in space, and that’s exactly right up my street. So this is killing me not being able to watch it On Demand like the majority of our readers can.
