Talk about bizarro world…

Remember a year and a half ago when the #SonyHack scandal was all the rage? All kinds of confidential emails became public and, with them, all manner of strange movie ideas leaked onto the internet. One of those ideas, which probably sounded like pure “pass the bong” fodder to you, was a film that would find Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum crossing over from their 21 JUMP STREET franchise into the world of MEN IN BLACK

Considering the duo wasn’t keen on doing another JUMP STREET sequel- having used the closing credits of 22 JUMP STREET to thoroughly skewer the idea of further follow-ups- but are having their hands forced by Sony exercising clauses in their contracts, it seemed like they were thinking, “Hey, we don’t want to do this thing. But if we’re going to do it, let’s make it something CRAZY.

Except…Sony went for it.

Which brings us to this. A MEN IN BLACK/21 JUMP STREET crossover is officially a thing! It’s going to be called MIB 23, and you can see the logo for it right here:

The logo is an obvious merger of the styles used for both franchises, that stays true to the self-referential humor of the JUMP STREET series. Since this will be the second JUMP STREET sequel, the third MEN IN BLACK sequel, and the last film in the former mocked the idea of endless sequels…MIB 23 accomplishes a lot, with a little.

As of now, it’s believed that MEN IN BLACK stalwarts Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will sit this film out. Essentially, Hill and Tatum’s Schmidt and Jenko will be enlisted to join the top secret Men In Black government agency, and hilarity will- in theory- ensue.

What do you think?
