For years now, there has been talk of a reboot or revival of the workplace comedy The Office, the series that ran for nine seasons and kind of spawn the mockumentary-style comedy series that quickly caught on. Of course, while that style of show caught on because of its novelty, the series itself survived because of its fun characters and heart.

Well, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting a new Office show any time soon, but that’s okay. It opens up the talent for a lot more original work…including the new workplace comedy, Space Force. The show comes courtesy of The Office‘s Greg Daniels and Steve Carell. This show will star Carell and will follow the men and women who are striving to create the new Space Force branch of the government, which was first announced by U.S. president Donald Trump last year.

Below is the official synopsis for Space Force:

“On June 18, 2018, the federal government announced the creation of a 6th major division of the United States Armed Forces. The goal of the new branch is ‘to defend satellites from attack’ and ‘perform other space-related tasks.’ Or something. This is the story of the men and women who have to figure it out.”
