The Rock Dies Hard In New Trailer For Skyscraper

Do you like Die Hard? How about Dwayne Johnson. How do you feel about fire?

If you enjoy all three – or even two out of three – I may have the movie for you!

In the latest trailer for Skyscraper, it becomes more and more apparent this is just a slight twist on Die Hard, to a point it could have just been the Rock’s official of Die Hard “soft reboot” if Bruce Willis would ever let that franchise go.

A tower with something secret the villains need? Check.

Villains with slightly foreign accents? Check.

Tall inescapable building? Check, Mate!

The official synopsis for Skyscraper is as follows:

Global icon Dwayne Johnson leads the cast of Legendary’s Skyscraper as former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Sawyer, who now assesses security for skyscrapers.  On assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it.  A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who is trapped inside the building…above the fire line.

The film with written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber who directed Johnson in Central Intelligence.

While I’m not waiting for this film the same way I anticipate a Marvel or Mission: Impossible film, it looks just campy enough to get my ass into a reclining seat at my local theater in July.
