The Rock Says There Isn’t A Black Adam Cameo in Shazam!

Lots of DC news in the past few days, after months of rumors, Joaquin Phoenix has officially signed on to play the Joker in an origin story, Margot Robbie informed us that Birds of Prey shoots next January, and yesterday we got the first official image from Shazam! And speaking of Shazam! today we get confirmation from the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson that there will not be a Black Adam cameo in next year’s film. The Rock spoke with Syfy Wire and said while the characters will surely meet on the someday, but it won’t be in Shazam!

“I’m not in that one. It’s Shazam and Black Adam and, with the way the DC universe works, we should – in theory – meet up on the big screen. But who knows.”

Black Adam has on occasion dawned the anti-hero cape, but he is perhaps most well known for being Shazam’s nemesis. I really do think that Dwayne Johnson was the perfect actor to cast for the role and am excited to see the him step into the superhero world. With the Rock saying a couple days ago that a Black Adam film could shoot next year, hopefully it won’t be too long before we see him and Shazam on screen together.
