If you felt that the Netflix series Stranger Things is nothing more than a fad that is about to fade out, you’re not going to like this story. The recent release of the show’s Season 3 trailer has been nothing short of massive. Though, it does make sense, considering, when it comes to branding, Stranger Things has grown to become its jewel in the crown, of sorts (even though Bright managed to do good numbers, all interest in that film seemed to fade almost instantly).
Released just last week, the trailer has become the highest viewed video on the streaming service’s YouTube channel. In that time, the trailer has racked up over 22 million views. That puts it over the 19 million views for the show’s seasons 2 “Thriller” trailer—which this writer considers one of the best trailers ever made—and the 18 million views collected on the trailer for Bird Box.

In this chapter, the young crew from Hawkins, Indiana will be having a summer adventure instead of a Halloween-themed one. The third season is set to premiere on Netflix on July 4th, giving fans something to do before and after having a BBQ on Independence Day. Switching up the time of season meant the trailer had to take a different route from the hauntingly entertaining season two trailer, which infused the music and voiceover of Vincent Price on the song “Thriller.”
This time around, The Who’s “Baba O’Riley (Teenage Wasteland)” is the choice track for season three’s trailer. This tale will focus on our favorite group getting older and dealing with the life changes that come with growing up. Of course, there’s also going to be some creepy, scary monsters getting involved, too.
