It looks like the man behind such film as The Machinist and such shows as Fringe and Boardwalk Empire is set to direct the pilot for the upcoming live-action series Titans. According to Heroic Hollywood, the JJ Abrams-produced series, Brad Anderson will be the one to helm that first episode.
The series is written by DC chief creative officer Geoff Johns, film screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, and Greg Berlanti, who is best known for his Arrowverse on The CW. Needless to say, there’s quite the pedigree behind this project is pretty fantastic, as it’s made up of a mammoth in the comics industry (not to mention the DC films), an Oscar-winning writer, and someone who’s shepherded an entire universe on TV.
Below is the official synopsis for Titans:
“Titans explores one of the most popular comic book teams ever. It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.”
We have few details as far as actual plot is concerned, but we do know some of the stars.
Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean 5) stars as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop (24: Legach) as Starfire, Teagan Croft (The Osiris Child) as Raven, Lindsey Gort (Lucifer) as Detective Amy Rohrbach, Alan Ritchson (Lazer Team) as Hawk, and Minka Kelly (Jane the Virgin) as Dove.
Titans is set to air on a currently-unnamed DC Comics digital service next year!
