Toby Kebbell Joins the Cast of Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot

With the principle photography on Sony’s Bloodshot starring Vin Diesel set to begin in July, TheWrap has learned that Toby Kebbell has joined the cast and will take on the role of the villain Axe.

Bloodshot will be directed by Dave Wilson and so far includes the cast of Diesel, Michael Sheen, Eiza Gonzalez, Talulah Riley, Alex Hernandez, Sam Heughan and how Kebbell. Founder and now head of Valiant Entertainment Dan Mintz will be the executive producer on the film.

Kebbell is well known for his roles in filmes like The Fantastic Four, the latest Planet of the Apes franchise, Kong: Skull Island and Warcraft. He is repped by ICM and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman LLP.

Bloodshot was created by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton in 1992. It follows a mortally wounded solider that is brought back to life using cutting edge nanotechnology that allow him not only to tap into surrounding technology but also regenerate his body if wounded. He was originally tasked with rounding up super powered outcasts known in the Valiant Universe as Harbingers.

Currently you can follow Bloodshot in his title over at Valiant Entertainment called Bloodshot Salvation, which this month released issue ten. It is written by Jeff Lemire with artwork by Doug Braithwaite.
