Tom Cruise Already Has Big Ideas For Mission: Impossible 7 — Can It Go Into Space?

While Hollywood has quite the habit of churning out sequels, spin-offs, and prequels without audiences even asking for it, there are some franchises out there whose sequels are actually met with genuine enthusiasm. That’s right, in spite of the jaded nature of the business we invest mentally in, there are indeed films that fans are actually excited for. Gasp!

The franchise in question here, of course, is none other than Mission: Impossible — one that only seems to get better with each and every film. Not only do the stakes increase, but so does resident maniac Tom Cruise, who looks to up the danger factor every year he ages. Needless to say, they’re always thinking about ways to top themselves for the next movie, and speaking with Collider, this is something that was confirmed by director Christopher McQuarrie.

“I can tell you Tom already has a lot of really big ideas. World-topping shit.”

In a previous interview with Tom Cruise, the actor expressed his interest to go into space. Here’s what McQuarrie said in terms of that possibility.

“That would be entirely up to SpaceX or NASA. They would have to be involved with that, I would imagine. Or Paramount Pictures. I don’t know how much they want to invest.”

Given that the series seems to do just a little bit better with every entry, they could do much worse than going to space. Get on it, Paramount! I wanna see Astronaut Ethan Hunt!

What do you want to see from the next Mission: Impossible film? Outlandish ideas only.
