Tom Hardy Posts… Then Deletes… Image Celebrating First Day Of Venom 2 Production

Venom: Let There Be Carnage Runtime Is Only 90-Minutes

Tom Hardy returns to theaters in 2020 in Venom 2, which began shooting today based on an Instagram image that Hardy posted, and then deleted.

The image of the actor had him sitting in the makeup room with a caption reading “W3’R’V3NOM2 day one.” Luckily, the image was captured by a reddit user and can be seen below.

Why was the image deleted? Is today not “day one?” More likely, Sony required the actor to delete the tweet, for whatever reason.

The sequel to the critically-hated yet high grossing “sort of” Spider-Man spinoff from Sony’s own Universe of Spider-Man characters, Venom 2 is being directed by Andy Serkis from a script by Kelly Marcel. The film will see the return of Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, and Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady/Carnage. Naomie Harris, who has played Eve Moneypenny in the last two 007 films and the upcoming No Time To Die was previously reported to be up for the role of Shriek in the film.

Though we don’t have an exact release date for Venom 2, it is believed to be Sony’s Untitled Marvel Project set for October 2, 2020.
