Yes, D23 may have covered up the stink that was they Sony-Disney Spider-Man split, but the fact remains that, as of this writing, the two studios haven’t come to an agreement that would allow Peter Parker to continue on within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is a huge bummer for all of us fans.
But in the wake of all this, there are some interesting little details that are coming out about stuff that happened BEFORE this agreement came to an end. More specifically, plans that Sony had for Spider-Man within their own VenomVerse, as I call it.

Rumors were abound before Venom hit theaters about a potential Spidey cameo, but it never came to fruition. According to two separate sources of Collider Live, however, Sony not only planned for Peter Parker to show up in that film, but actor Tom Holland actually filmed something that was later pulled by Disney.
With this in mind, it shows two things. The first is that Sony had plans to merge Spidey and Venom. The second is that Disney got in the way, meaning that they could have very well seen Disney as a studio that was impeding on their own universe and their potential profits.
What do you think of all this? Are you happy Peter Parker never showed up in Venom? Let us know your thoughts down below!
