Top Gun: Maverick Possibly Headed To Comic-Con 50

Let the Comic-Con rumors begin! With less than a month away from thousands of people coming together at the San Diego Convention Center to celebrate all things pop culture we are starting to receive news about who will be there showcasing their upcoming projects. We know that this year Warner Bros. will be sitting out and that Marvel Studios will likely be returning to Hall H.

Via Deadline we are also hearing that Paramount and Skydance Media could be bringing Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise to Comic-Con 50 in some way. They are being told that many of the cast involved in the film are already booking their hotels and tickets for the event. This would make sense as Top Gun: Maverick shot in San Diego last summer. They just showed off two minutes of footage at CineEurope in Barcelona. For the moment Paramount and Sundance had not comment.

The last time that Paramount and Skydance Media made their presence felt at Comic-Con was back in 2016 when they had the world premiere of Star Trek: Beyond in an outdoor screening that included the cast and an orchestra playing the score during the film. It’s also noteworthy to mention that Paramount was one of the first studios to showcase their films down in San Diego with Iron Man and Thor back when they still made Marvel films oh so many years ago.

Top Gun: Maverick is being directed by Joseph Kosinski from a screenplay by Peter Craig, Christopher McQuarrie, Justin Marks and Eric Warrne Singer. Producers on the film are Cruise, Jerry Bruckheimer, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger with EPs Tommy Harper, Chad Oman and Mike Stenson.
