Toy Story 4: Meet Gabby Gabby And Her Dummies

We had gotten a lot of teaser trailers for Disney Pixar’s Toy Story 4 and finally a few days ago we got the full trailer that gave us a better idea of what situation we find Andy’s er… I mean Bonnie’s toys in the film. Classic Toy Story characters like Woody, Buzz, Rex, Mr. Potato Head and Bo Peep to name a few. But like in every sequel there are new characters some with good intentions and others bad that we’ll be seeing in the film.

For example, Toy Story 4‘s new villain. A creepy 1950’s doll named Gabby Gabby, who is voiced by Good Girls and Mad Men star Christina Hendricks. Like any good villain Gabby Gabby has a set of henchmen who are a gang of voiceless ventriloquist dummies. The reason that they are mute is because as mid-century antiques, there are no humans to make them speak. If you check them out in the trailer they are quite creepy as they go after Woody.

How did this doll become so bitter? Director for Toy Story 4 Josh Cooley talked to Entertainment Weekly a little about Gabby Gabby and her tragic situation. “Gabby has been in this antique store for 60-plus years,” Cooley explains. “We’ve never seen creepy, old dolls like that in Toy Story, and this was an opportunity to do that. Gabby is a perfect toy except for the fact that she’s got one thing broken about her that’s been keeping her from being purchased and loved forever. So when Woody comes across her, it’s bad right out the gate. And in fact, meeting her for the first time is one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie.” It goes on to describe her as Annabelle meets The Godfather, so I am guessing our favorite toys may be in trouble.
