Trailer: David Harbour’s Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster Is Confusing As Hell

Us film and TV nerds love the meta stuff. There’s a reason why the character of Deadpool has become so popular in recent years. We’re at the stage right now where even the most mainstream of fans know a lot of the inner workings of how the sausage is made (or at least the broad strokes of the matter). But, even for us, there are some films and shows that get waaaay up their own asses with their concept.

This may be the case for David Harbour’s upcoming Netflix original project, Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster. Call me stupid (and many of you have in the past — namely in my opinions of Star Wars: The Last Jedi), but after watching the trailer, I really didn’t know what to make of this.

Check it out below:

So, what’s the deal here? Did David Harbour’s father really do a bunch of made-for-TV plays, and more importantly, did the guy look THAT much like his son? The answer, of course, is no. This is one big weird mockumentary, and while it does seem to be tongue-in-cheek at times, Netflix isn’t revealing any secrets in the synopsis:

“David Harbour delves into the enigmatic history of his legendary acting family, as he examines his father’s legacy and role in a made-for-tv play”

So what do you make of this weird mockumentary? Let us know your thoughts down below!
