The Little Stranger is a gothic novel written in 2009 by Sarah Waters. The ghost story takes place in the 1940’s in Warwickshire, England.

Now before you chalk this up as another haunted mansion type story, the adaption’s primary focus is on the aftermath of social and class issues in a post-war Britain.  The tone is what looks to set it apart from the others for me, which can be seen in the trailer above.
