The 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump will be getting his own show in the form of an animated comedy from Stephen Colbert.
Our Cartoon President will air on SHOWTIME and consist of 10 episodes and along with Colbert, the show will be co-produced by Chris Licht, who worked with Colbert on The Late Show.
A description of the series from a SHOWTIME statement follows below:
“In this parallel cartoon universe, the Commander-in-Chief opens the White House doors for an “all access” look at a typical day in the life of the President of the United States. “Our Cartoon President” examines the quintessentially Trumpian details of the presidency and his most important relationships, and no one is safe—from his close family and confidants to key political figures from both parties and members of the media.”
Love him or hate him, Trump pulled off perhaps the biggest upset in the history of American politics, beating out career politician and former First Lady, Hillary Clinton. Whether you lean left or lean right, making fun of the President has become somewhat of a tradition, some get it worse than others, it is just part of the job.
What makes Trump different is how he reacts to the jokes and criticism, in a manner unlike any President before, for better or worse, but this show is sure to increase the activity coming from @POTUS.
