The original Wreck-It Ralph was one giant homage to video games. From old-school arcade games to rail-gun shooters, there were few stones left unturned for that film. However, despite Ralph Breaks the Internet being a sequel to it, this looks to be a film with a lot more emphasis on the internet, and a whole lot less emphasis on games and a whole lot more emphasis on memes.
But don’t think they’ll be abandoning the world of gaming altogether. Of course, we’ve seen them poke fun at tablet games, but the other big video game we’ll be seeing is Slaughter Race, which Vanellope falls instantly in love with. In the latest clip, we see her race Gal Gadot’s character Shank, who is one of the drives in the film. While I can’t speak to the film as a whole, it may be one of the few remnant game elements we’ll be seeing in this film before it’s all memes and Disney Princesses. Also, a side note, based on the music, I get a real James Bond, mystery-ish vibe. Can we expect to see some of that in this film? We shall see.

Below is the official synopsis for Ralph Breaks the Internet:
“Ralph Breaks the Internet leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”
