A few weeks ago, I wrote an article on this very website, where after learning that there would be a Flash/Supergirl musical crossover, I speculated that the villain could be none other than the Music Meister. Today this was confirmed by EW when they asked Greg Berlanti, the creator of both shows, about it.

“It is going to be the Music Meister. We’re finishing writing the script this weekend. We haven’t gone about casting it yet.”

Do not underestimate this evildoer, as with the simple power of song and dance, The Music Meister wields a mind and body control power that would rival even Grodd.

This character was specifically created for an episode of the animated series Batman: The Brave And The Bold, and to my knowledge he has never made his way into the books. But hell, if Harley can transition then maybe he can as well. Using his power of song, with some minor technological advancements, he is able to take the world’s most powerful villains and heroes and make them do a simple jig to occupy their time, while he goes about his agenda to further his needs. The voice of the character was originally done by Neil Patrick Harris, and the casting for The Music Meister has not yet been revealed. If this crossover would like to make the headlines for a week, they should beg and shell out whatever figure Harris wants and get him back into the role. We shall see.

Also, a large part of the cast from both shows has a musical background. Both Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist have great voices and musical ability. Jesse L. Martin, Jeremy Jordan, and most of the Supergirl cast can sing as well, so one can assume that the actors will all be trying to one-up each other with their talents, and this should provide for a great event.

More than just the two-part crossover will be affected as well, as the results from these 2 episodes will have implications for future shows. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg commented on this.

“When we get to the musical episode, both Barry and Kara will find themselves at pivotal crossroads on their respective series, the experience of going through the musical will have a great impact on both series moving forward.”

Sounds cool!

I get it, The Music Meister is not the biggest draw, and I am not usually a big fan of musicals, but if you can, go back and watch the episode in Batman: The Brave And The Bold featuring The Music Meister and tell us what you think!
