Why Mila Kunis Doesn’t Want To Play A Superhero

If you’re an actor, chances are you’re getting asked one question: Do you want to play a superhero? With every passing year, the pool of actors who haven’t jumped onto the silver screen in an MCU or DCEU film is dwindling at an alarming rate. However, there are a couple actresses who have yet to do so: Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon, the stars of The Spy Who Dumped Me.

Speaking with MTV, both were asked if they would be up for the job. Kunis was quick to answer:

“No. It’s a lot of working out. Yeah, lots of those people are hungry, and you have to be because you have to be in shape and I don’t want to be hungry for 10 years.”

Her co-star, McKinnon pointed to Black Swan as a job where Kunis had to get in shape, but Kunis pointed to the timeframe as a huge difference:

“[For Black Swan, I had to stay in shape] for like six months. These people are like, they’re just working out nonstop. They have to be in shape.”

Yeah, fair point. By now, you’ve likely heard Hugh Jackman talk at length about having workout non-stop and having to eat entire armies of chicken in order to retain his Wolverine physique. I can’t exactly blame anyone for not wanting to sustain that ridiculous lifestyle.

McKinnon seemed to be on the same page, only wanting to play her own superhero that she made up in that moment — Grape Girl, who eats grapes without getting full.

What about you? If your job required you to eat cardboard every day and work out for three to four hours — in addition to actually being good at the craft of acting — would you do it? Let us know down below!
